Creating spaces that are comfortable, memorable and inspiring.

Outdoor Hospitality Design, OHD, was formed as I noticed a gap in design services for Outdoor Hospitality. There are all encompassing firms that cover design through construction as well as large scale development but few that will meet the need of smaller resort owners or prospective developers. As a full time RV’er since 2018 I bring a unique perspective to the needs of guests that a casual observer or design firm does not. Often I have commented on how inefficient or confusing a layout is. How amenities do not meet the guests needs but are based on perceived needs of the designers. Not first hand experience.

Over the past 30 years we have gained knowledge and insight on how development can meet both the owners and guests needs and be an asset for future development and growth.

As a registered Landscape Architect the way I view development differs from many design professionals. Outdoor Hospitality developments require an intimate knowledge of the landscape and how it may best integrate into the natural environment. Creating an guest experience that reflects the special character of the site and the owners commitment to offer their guests something different.

It has been my experience that very successful properties take advantage of their natural surroundings and capitalize on them to their benefit. My work has taken me all across the US, Mexico, China and Canada and each region offers its own special opportunities. I have noticed most outdoor hospitality venues have a similar “sameness” to their offerings. In essence all are chasing the same, or similar, guests without actually giving them a different experience. My abilities offer you options to differentiate yourselves for those seeking something other than what most resorts offer.

We specialize in:

  • Master planning for projects to provide a blueprint to be followed based on need, cost and opportunity.

  • Amenities development guidance including ROI, practicality and placement.

  • Long term maintenance planning, practices and budgeting.
